Bosom Buddies One of our primary goals is to be able to offer a volunteer network comprised of people from all walks of life who may be survivors of breast cancer themselves, family members and close friends of those whose lives were changed because of breast cancer, or simply individuals who for a variety of reasons want to make a difference in the overall journey of those touched by breast cancer. If you are interested in being a Bosom Buddy, a variety of opportunities exist for any level of talents and abilities, ages, and for any time frames or availability. Currently we are especially seeking people to help research information for our HOPE(c) guide, to be a "buddy" for women currently receiving treatment and/or medical attention, and to assist with our various fund-raising efforts. But as we get rolling, our opportunities will grow and grow. Come be a part of a joyful partnership! If you are currently a breast cancer survivor and would have any kind of need that having a Bosom Buddy could help fill, or you know someone who would, please give us a call. Whether it's someone to share their experience and hope with you as a fellow survivor, or perhaps driving you to and from a doctor's office, treatment facility, or related need, or someone to cheer the end of treatments or improved blood test results - we are committed to joining you with individuals who will be personally committed as a caring, confidential partner. We look forward to meeting you and joining with you on this journey.
What Bosom Buddies can do: BOSOM BUDDY* (actual contact, one-on-one - see below) Telephone "buddy" Email "buddy" Prayer "buddy" Fundraising Data research/compilation Graphic design Public relations Research & apply for grants ... the possibilities are endless!
*This is someone who will check on you periodically - call after your nadir blood tests to see how your results went, or accompany you to doctors' appointments or tests - even go with you to treatments if you desire! We will also provide any other personal attention mutually agreed upon between the volunteer and breast cancer patient that can add joy and encouragement to your journey.
